MUYŌ is a Helsinki-based cultural space and tea house dedicated to carefully curated teas. Rooted in East Asian traditions, MUYŌ offers a selection of high-grade teas alongside Kintsugi lessons and a range of other cultural workshops. The space also serves as a platform for local artists, hosting small exhibitions that reflect the calm nature of MUYŌ as a cultural center.
The aim was to create a visual identity that communicates MUYŌ’s core essence: a moment of quiet luxury in the heart of the city. It is a place where thoughtfully sourced tea, craftsmanship, and culture meet. The visual identity balances contemporary luxury with a more classic design and carries a subtle sense of East Asian tradition.
The visual identity embraces the idea of subtle materiality: luxury that is tactile, organic, and softly imperfect. Instead of bold graphic elements or saturated colours, the identity takes a quiet and discreet yet detailed approach. High-quality materials, rough textures, and subtle but intricate graphic elements reveal new details when viewed up close.
The logo blends traditional influences with a modern edge. Its soft, organic forms create a harmonious impression and echo the peaceful lifestyle MUYŌ seeks to promote. The typography supports this through a classic yet refined design, offering a sophisticated and subtle expression across applications.
